I made a desk out of scrap wood for a friend a few months ago and a few other friends have asked me if I could make them one. I made this one almost the same as the first one, but changed up the legs and used some different woods for fun. The door slides on grooves to conceal storage on the left and a drawer on the right. I bought the brass finger pull at Lowe's. The desk is made out of different scrap pieces of wood; teak (I saved for the top), oak, OSB, cherry and wenge. I made the legs out of steel rod that I bent and welded to flat bar, which bolt to the bottom of the cabinet. I turned a small piece of mahogany on the lathe and chopped it up into feet for the legs. I used a jig I made and a router to carve out the curved pull in the drawer. I've got to make one more for another friend and I'll have to make it a little different since it's going to be shipped to Alaska. I'll have to make the legs collapsible.
